Yoga and Movement
Through breath, balance and exploration of the mind, body and spirit.
Understanding the self is the truest and most effective way to access the powers of the body and mind while working towards a place of total health and inner peace. By humbly committing to the life-long journey of self-discovery, you’ll soon experience the miraculous. This can all be done through a combination of conscious diet, movement, self-awareness and immersion into nature.
Yoga
Yoga is a multi-faceted practice that embodies a plethora of different kinds of movement, mindfulness and spiritual practices. There are many different lineages of yoga that differ in their theories, philosophies and physical practices. However above all, yoga is universally recognized as a practice to enhance the stability, flexibility and understanding of not only the body, but also of the mind and spirit.
I was taught under the lineage of Hatha Yoga, and more specifically, the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. This methodology of yoga is best known for its anatomically specific alignment and the use of props to navigate the physical practice. Iyengar is well known for his Restorative Yoga Therapy method. All branches of this practice are meant for all levels and incorporate asana (postures), breathwork and philosophical theory.

Functional Training
These sessions most often include mobility, strength and flexibility as it relates to being able to perform ADLs (Acts of Daily Living) and complements to higher level movement practices. This personalized approach could address anything from the ability to get up off of a chair, routines focused on spinal health, or regimens that target shoulder mobility. All of this programming is aimed at lowering risk of injury while enhancing movement at any level.
Exploratory Movement
Have you ever been curious as to what your body could do with a little practice and guidance?
Diving deep into the creative centers of our being and channeling it through movement is one of the most ancient forms of human expression. For me, it has become a form of liberation and empowerment. Discovering a new form of play is always right around the corner, and healthy discipline can lead your body to accomplish amazing things. Friendly for movers of all levels!

Family & Kids Yoga
The promotion of health and development in kids is just as important as that of adults.
Guided movement and yoga for kids provide an engaging and fun way for them to tap into the awareness of their body to nurture physical and mental well-being.
Classes are personalized based on the age (anywhere from 6 mo. - 17+) and size of group (individual or group classes).
Corrective Movement
Imbalance in the musculoskeletal system can arise from many places. Genetic problems like scoliosis or muscular dystrophy, overuse from repetitive movement, poor form during exercise or lack of activation, often from an overly sedentary lifestyle. Too frequently, the aches and pains that people experience on a daily basis become debilitating, very painful, and will sometimes result in complete loss of function in the joint or structure.
Systematically addressing muscle weakness and tightness and assuring healthy movement patterns has great potential to alleviate chronic pain and increase the resilience of the structural system of our bodies. This not only helps to improve our mood and energy levels, but enhances the functioning of our organ systems as a whole.
These sessions incorporate different mixes of yoga, personal training, assisted stretching, relaxation techniques and breathwork.
